Post-Quantum Cryptography Architecture
A comprehensive technical overview of the NIST-standardized mathematical primitives and zero-knowledge protocol designs implemented in Abhigram.
1. NIST FIPS 203: ML-KEM (Module-Lattice Key Encapsulation)
Abhigram implements Kyber-1024 at Category 5 security level (equivalent to AES-256 brute force resistance). Key exchange operations are formulated over polynomial rings with rank $k=4$. Even when quantum computers equipped with millions of qubits become capable of running Shor's algorithm, polynomial lattice problems remain exponentially hard.
2. NIST FIPS 204: ML-DSA (Module-Lattice Digital Signatures)
Identity attestation and cryptographic handshakes use Dilithium-5. Unlike RSA or elliptic curve signatures which succumb to quantum period-finding, ML-DSA signatures ensure that no passive eavesdropper or rogue relay can forge identity keys.
3. Ephemeral Post-Quantum Double Ratchet
Abhigram combines symmetric KDF ratcheting with periodic lattice-based asymmetric ratchets. Every sent message advances the chain key. If a physical device's transient memory is somehow compromised, past conversations remain mathematically sealed (Perfect Forward Secrecy) and future conversations re-seal automatically within one message exchange (Break-In Recovery).
